Last night’s severe weather moved through NYC bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and localized flooding. NYCEM is coordinating across city government, as well as with our first responders and nonprofit partners. Together, they have been working through the night and into today to address conditions on the ground. We are also working closely with elected officials.
Report storm-related damage at reportdamage.nyc.gov and file 311 service request for specific conditions that need a City response: basement flooding, sewer backups, street flooding, downed trees, power outages, structural concerns, mold, or blocked catch basins.

Notice: Proposed Legislation Changes to Local Law 75 of 2009 (Storefront Security Grilles).
Following advocacy from the Department of Buildings about the need for a legislative change to Local Law 75 of 2009, a new bill has been introduced in the City Council that would change the applicability of the law.
As a result, DOB will hold off on enforcement of Local Law 75 while the new legislation is under consideration.
